Pros
This monitor is cheap! I think it would be safe to say that it is one of the most popular computer displays for under $200. It’s no wonder people buy more than one at a time.
It’s a great space saver because it is thin (due to the use of LED backlighting). It also has reasonably good image quality with easy to use controls.
It also uses a matte display instead of a glossy so glare is reduced without sacrificing brightness or clarity. The colours are vivid and text is easily readable.
Cons
As with all monitors utilizing TN panels, the viewing angle is somewhat limited. Also, the default brightness may be a bit too bright for some, requiring adjustment upon use.
Being a monitor that comes with integrated speakers, it’s a bit odd that it didn’t come with HDMI input. This might be a deal breaker for some especially if you want to save some cables running from your laptop to the monitor.
The speakers are mediocre as expected of monitor speakers. They will be adequate for office use but definitely won’t do for music or movie lovers.

Most customers who bought this monitor are quite happy with it though the general consensus is that if you’re a graphic design or video editing company then you would want a more expensive IPS monitor with greater colour reproduction and calibration control.
That said, one customer bought 12 units of this monitor for his digital arts studio and says that this monitor is better than most bargain IPS monitors he has tried. Out of the 12 he ordered, one was not functioning but Amazon promptly refunded him for it.

I browsed through the reviews of this monitor on the Amazon link you provided and was impressed with the number of people who praised the clarity and brightness of the monitor. I think these are two of the most important qualities. For the price, it seems like a truly outstanding value!
I believe this monitor would be highly suitable for graphics work or video editing. It has great specs and large screen size. Regarding the IPS issue, I have used 3rd party calibration tools like Spyder 3 ($120) with other Viewsonic monitors for critical projects with great success. The VX2450 is a bargain!
